ESTHER ROLINSON (born 1971)
Breathing the Breath of Others
UK, 2014; printed 2016
Esther Rolinson is best known for her digitallyprogrammed light installations, based on drawings exploring structure, movement and sensation. She describes her drawing method as ‘meditative’. Developing simple rules, like ‘draw a straight line, followed by a curved line, followed by a straight line’, she can dissociate her actions from conscious
thinking to focus on producing work instinctively.
