Treasured Editions

Following the success of When We Were Very Young, Milne’s children’s books became collectors’ items. The owner of one prized set of first editions had them bound in fine decorated leather. Besides the standard cloth-bound copies, you could buy deluxe editions bound in leather and limited editions made in handmade paper or Japanese vellum, signed by the author and artist.
Some rare copies have exquisite pen and ink drawings by Shepard on the title page, probably specially commissioned.
