The original design for this poster Everybody Dies was created by Caitlin Griffin, taking a witty look at the death toll in Shakespeare's tragedies. Originally showcased online by the artist, the image was quickly shared around the internet and was picked up by the National Theatre in 2013 and adapted for its gift shop merchandise, including notebooks, postcards, mugs, tea towels and posters. The design proved a popular piece of NT merchandise in 2016, the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.

Poster featuring 'Death Counts' for Shakespeare's tragedies Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, Antony and Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, King Lear, Titus Andronicus, Coriolanus, Timon of Athens, and The Winter's Tale, alongside humorous illustrations of each play's characters and their causes of death. Each character appears as a red male or female stick figure graphic, with each figure modified to illustrate the characters' demise. Listed beneath each figure is the characters' name and cause of death.
