This image shows the interior of the Crystal Palace during the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations in 1851. The Crystal Palace was located in Hyde Park in central London until 1854, when it was taken down and rebuilt in Sydenham in south London.

The Great Exhibition was visited by more than six million people, and one hundred thousand exhibits were on display. The displays at the Great Exhibition varied from raw materials such as coal, to the latest in agricultural machinery to fine arts such as sculpture. This view depicts the Indian court and is one of a set of colour lithographic prints published as a boxed set under the title Lloyd’s Recollections of the Great Exhibition 1851.
