The photograph features a three quarter length image of Margaret Damer as Rachel and Hutin Britton as Judith. The two women are seated beside one another, Britton is leaning towards Damer and resting her head on Damer's left shoulder, her gaze is directed downwards. Damer, who is looking towards a point in the distance, has her left arm wrapped around Britton's shoulders, and is holding a small bowl or cup in her right hand.
