Physical description | Photographic print of a scene from a production of The Wandering Jew, at the New Theatre, September 9th, 1920. The photograph features a scene in which a group of men are gathered in a church. A priest is standing behind an alter, a cross mounted on the wall behind him. He is leaning foward, both hands resting on the alter in front of him. His gaze, and that of the other men, is directed towards another, smaller, male figure who is standing alone at the far left hand side of the scene. This man is returning their gaze, and is standing with his body turned slightly to the left, his hands clasped in front of him. |
