Toe ring made from a flat loop of silver stamped with small floral motifs, lozenges and beaded borders. The front has an ornamental element made from a short rod terminating in a flat floral motif with a radiating fringe of hollow balls. These have granulated finials and tiny stamped floral ornaments applied to the loops which are threaded onto a wire which encircles the protruding length of rod.

This toe ring is part of the large donation of Indian folk jewellery from Dr Waltraud Ganguly which was collected over the last few decades before her death in 2015 from dealers in both India and Europe, in parallel with extensive fieldwork she carried out in the Indian Sub-Continent.
