Brief description | Drawing, 'Collapse of the Art Market', by Chris Burke; England, ca. 1992. |
Physical description | This cartoon drawing shows a man wearing white vest, grey overall jacket and blue trousers, and sporting a large beer belly, carrying away a gilt frame. He has a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and wears white trainers. Behind him is a line drawing with grey wash showing an art gallery shop window with closing down sign and cardboard boxes visible. There is no picture in the frame, so the man appears to make the image, except that his trainers show from underneath the frame.
