British fashion label Red or Dead was created in the early 1980s by Wayne and Geraldine Hemingway. Their philosophy was to provide innovative, high fashion at affordable prices. From selling home made and second hand clothes on market stalls in Camden and Kensington markets, Red or Dead became an internationally celebrated label. They won Streetstyle Designer of the Year Award in 1996, 1997 and 1998, and famous clients included Matt and Luke Goss from the band Bros.
'Budgie' was used for a series of garments and umbrellas for the 1990 Autumn/Winter Collection but was showcased at both the 1991 Autumn/Winter and 1992 Spring/Summer catwalk shows. It is based on the concept of 'love', whether it be pop stars or animals.
