This long sleeve, knee-length dress with side slits at the hem is known as a 'cheongsam' in Cantonese or a 'qipao' in Mandarin. It is made from a light-weight coffee-brown plain-weave silk printed with floral sprays; lined with brown padded silk.

The dress has a stand-up, stiffened collar closed with a metal hook and eye, seven metal snap fasteners across the collarbone to the right side, a zip-fastener in the side seam and two snap fasteners at cuff.
