The photograph features a scene with three figures, two female, one male. The women are positioned to the left, One (Gladys Cooper) is bending forwards, her arms wrapped around the other's (Edith Evans) waist. Evans is standing protectively in front of Cooper, her right arm around Cooper's shoulder. The man, positioned to the right, is standing with his left arm upraised and his right hand resting on a staff. His gaze is directed forwards, towards a point in the distance, whilst the women are looking towards him. |
