Acne's gender neutral pants are neither stereotypically masculine nor feminine. They are utilitarian, comfortable and in tune with inceasingly liberal perceptions about fluidity of gender.
Women have worn men's underwear for some time, preferring its fit and fabrics to traditional lingerie styles. The men's fashion and style magazine GQ flagged this as a minority trend in 1984.
