Dmitry Sayenko began making his own books in 1993, after his publisher went bankrupt during the economic 'shock therapy' that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union. He established his own publishing house, Nikodim, in 2000. The award-winning 'Absurd ABC: Phobias' was inspired by Sayenko's humorous attitude towards his own anxieties.
