Place of origin |
Brass was commonly used for secular and religious objects in the Three Kingdoms period (57 BC–AD 676). By the 18th century, affluent families used yugi (brass tableware) as brass retained heat better than porcelain wares and changed colour if the food it held was spoiled. Originally a specialist in brass gong-making, Lee expanded his practice to contemporary yugi in 2005, using the same time-consuming hand-forging technique.
