Photographic portrait of a scene from When Crummles Played, at the Lyric Hammersmith, 2nd June 1927. The photograph features a full length image of a stage on which 7 figures, five men and two women are positioned in a semi-circle. They are grouped around a central figure, Miriam Lewis (Miss Millwood) who is standing with her right arm upraised and is holding a small gun in her right hand. The six other figures are positioned to her left and right, of the three men on the left, two are leaning backwards and away from her, whilst the other is standing close beside her, his right hand reaching towards the gun. All the figures on the right, two men, and one woman, are are turning towards Lewis, their right arms upraised, pointing towards the gun.
