The photograph features a scene with three figures, two female, one male. A bookshelf is visible in the background and standing in front of the door to the left of this is the man, (Thesiger). He is shown turning slightly away from the woman who stands beside him (Lewis). His right hand is resting on his jacket front, but his left is being clasped by Lewis, who is shown leaning towards him, her other hand resting on Thesiger's shoulder. Positioned at the far right of the scene, and standing apart from this couple, is a further figure, (March). She is shown in three quarter profile and is standing with her hands clasped before her, and her gaze directed towards Thesiger. |
