Black and white line block print depicting two illustrations, the first 'The Woman in the Moon' showing the characters of the Young Syrian and the page of Herodias gazing at the moon. The moon has the caricatured features of Oscar Wilde in its face looking sideways at the two figures. Beside the moon is a rose to symbolise love and passion. Beardsley's larger signature device is in the bottom right. On the right is a second illustration of the border design for the title page.
