Print showing a Act III, Scene II from The Merchant of Venice, 1806. The print features a scene in which a group of figures are positioned around a table on which three caskets have been positioned. Two women are positioned to the right hand side of this table, their hands entwined and their gaze fixed upon the men who are positioned to the left of the table. One male figure (Bassanio) is standing forward from the group, his right arm outstretched and reaching towards the table. A caption below the image reads 'Thy plainess moves me more than eloquence.'
