| Physical description | The print features the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. The print from The Gentleman's Magazine listed as Plate 1, page 201 depicts the exterior before the building was pulled down in 1821 in the lower half of the page and after it was rebuilt in the same year on the upper half of the page. The 'before' depicts a multi-storey building with columns in the front an dbric on the ground floor with a different material (possibly wood?) for the upper levels. The 'after' depicts a neoclassical multi-storey building with two-storey entrance with columns and a decorative feature across the upper level of the building. |
