A two-part hinged bracelet with a tri-partite loop hinge and another tripartite looped fastening with a U-shaped pin with a lobed head slotted throught the loops and caught on a cross pice in the upper-most loop. The silver band has a stamped beaded wire edging and has a row of ornamental cylindrical units with a row of stamped floral motifs soldered across their tops. There are five clusters of hollow silver balls (gajre) wired onto the outside of these embellishments.

Object history
This bracelet is part of the large donation of Indian folk jewellery from Dr Waltraud Ganguly which was collected over the last few decades before her death in 2015 from dealers in both India and Europe, in parallel with extensive fieldwork she carried out in the Indian Sub-Continent. It was bought in November 2012 from a young woman with a sack of Banjara jewellerywhom the donor met on a side street off Janpath, Delhi. She paid 500 Rupees for it.
