This poster was published to support the election campaign for Sydney Buxton, Liberal MP for Poplar, in either the 1906 or 1910 General Election. Buxton, who supported free trade and opposed tariff reform on foreign imports, is shown in a tug-of-war contest with supporters of tariffs such as Joseph Chamberlain.
