A pair of silver cast anklets which are rigid, but resemble flexible chain link anklets even to the point of having three loops normally designed to take a fastening pin, but which are here set apart without movement. The anklets are decorated with the typical ball cresting and small floral motifs border the rigid chain links above a static fringe of what would usually be pendants along the lower edge..

Object history
This pair of anklets is part of the large donation of Indian folk jewellery from Dr Waltraud Ganguly which was collected over the last few decades before her death in 2015 from dealers in both India and Europe, in parallel with extensive fieldwork she carried out in the Indian Sub-Continent. They were shown at the exhibition in the Goldschmiedehaus, Hanau, Germany, 18 October 2013 - 18 January 2014. They were bought from the Indian jewellery dealer, Mahendra, in July 2007 for 475 Euros.
