Teapot
2009
Place of origin |
This teapot is designed by Younes Duret, a half-French half-Moroccan designer, based in Marrakesh. Younes's ideas are based on Moroccan cultural and artistic traditions. The ‘Bildi teapot’ is one of Younes's earliest designs, based on the profile of a traditional Moroccan teapot but extruded in a contemporary twist. Younes has worked with local craftsmen in Marrakesh to make various prototypes, and the V&A has bought the last prototype in the series – the ‘perfect’ pre-production version, though it is not a functional teapot.
