Physical description | Cloth bound album with alternating card and tissue leaves, 50 leaves in total. The front and back covers are black and the front has gold embossed graphics of two putti and the text 'Raphael Tuck & Sons Christmas and New Year Cards 1892-3'. The book contains a variety of manufactured scraps which are brightly coloured and romanticised. Scraps include children playing, ‘Punch and Judy’ performances, kittens, flowers, horses as well as reproductions of the work ‘Going to the Fair’ by J.Webster. There are several religious scenes such as the Adoration of the Magi. |
