Material transparency
WikiLeaks is an online whistleblowing platform.
Enabling the anonymous release of digitally-held
and sensitive information, it has fostered debates
about transparency, democratic oversight and the
role of the government. In 2011, graphic designers
Metahaven collaborated with WikiLeaks to create
merchandise to fund the organisation’s work.
This silk scarf is a visual play on transparency,
simultaneously revealing and concealing the body.
