Object history | An almost identical version of this design is reproduced in colour as plate 218 in J. Gregor and R Fülöp-Miller, 'Das Russische Theater' (Zurich, 1927) and associated there with one of Tairov's productions for the Kamernyi Theatre in Moscow. The design may, however, have been for the film 'Aelita' based on Aleksey Tolstoy's novel, for which Exter created the decor and costumes in 1924. |
