Beatrix Ong, MBE, was born in London by Chinese parents, but raised in Hong Kong. She studied at the Cordwainers College London and became Creative Director in 1998 at Jimmy Choo Couture. Beatrix Ong founded her own company Beatrix Ong in 2002, and was touted as the new Choo. The ‘Old Beijing’ sneakers are excellent examples of the designer’s cross-cultural influences and of the global market of today. Beatrix Ong is an amalgamation of Chinese and European, which is also reflected in her design.
