Object history | NB The term "negro"/"negress" was used historically to describe people of black African heritage but, since the 1960s, has fallen from usage and, increasingly, is considered offensive. The term is repeated here in its original historical context. The poster is printed at the top with the name of the Proprietors - The Grand Opera Syndicate, Limited, and the names of the General Manager of the Royal Opera House Mr. Neil Forsyth, and the Managing Director Mr. Percy Pitt. Thamar is credited as a choreographic drama in one act by M. L. Bakst, music by M. Balakirev, scenes and dances by M. Michel Fokine, scenery and costumes designed by M. L. Bakst, scenery executed by M. Charbey and Soudejkine, costumes executed by Mlle. Muelle. The cast is listed as Thamar, Reine de Georgie - Mme Tamara Karsavina; Le Prince - M.
