Set model piece for 'The Palace of the Empress' in pantomime Turn Again Whittington, London Palladium, 1960.
Turn Again Whittington starred Norman Wisdom as Dick Whittington and popstar Yana as Alice Fitzwarren. The show’s scenery designed by Tod Kingman achieved great praise, with the Guardian describing it as a “lavish colourful entertainment” and reports in the Sunday Dispatch suggesting that the production cost £75,000 to stage.
This was Norman Wisdom’s second pantomime as Principal Boy and the production also featured a female Dame in the form of Margot Lister as Mrs Boddy, the Alderman’s Housekeeper.
