Place of origin |
Percy Heffer & Co was a wallpaper company based at 64 Berners Street around the turn of the 19th century. Around 1910 the firm changed its name to Heffer, Scott & Co, following their takeover of Scott, Cuthertson & Co. The name on this poster, and the Beardsley-esque style of the woman in Aesthetic dress suggest that it dates from around 1900. The poster advertises Decorine, a water-based paint, and has 20 numbered samples painted on the sheet.
