Silver teapot set I/2011

Tea Cup
2011 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The teapot is a fresh reinterpretation of the humble brass or nickel-silver kettle commonly seen and used in Korea. Its particularity lies in its handle made of nickel, warm to the touch but heat resistant unlike its silver body. Jeon developed the traditional hammering technique to turn the cold flat metal sheet into a generous volume, combining straight and curvy lines that convey warmth and wholeness.
The white porcelain teacups were made by a potter and harmoniously complete the metal teapot.
