Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton, CBE (14 January 1904 – 18 January 1980) was an English fashion, portrait and war photographer, diarist, painter, interior designer and an Academy Award-winning stage and costume designer for films and the theatre. He was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1970.
On a Clear Day You Can See Forever is a 1970 musical fantasy directed by Vincente Minnelli. The screenplay by Alan Jay Lerner is adapted from his book for the 1965 stage production of the same name. The songs feature lyrics by Lerner and music by Burton Lane.
Barbra Streisand plays Daisy Gamble, who under hypnosis, discovers she has been reincarnated. The costumes created by Beaton were for the flash-back scenes set in Regency England. Costume designer Arnold Scaasi designed the clothes for the modern day scenes.
