Place of origin |
Length of screen printed cotton furnishing fabric entitled 'Sequoia'. The design reflects the artist's love of the natural world as the large coniferous tree native to California provides the inspiration and the title for this fabric. Wakely enjoyed experimenting with scale and colour - in this design, the reddish brown of the sequoia tree has been translated into a repeat pattern, bringing a sense of nature (rather than a direct representation) into the domestic interior.
