Line Vautrin’s jewellery was described by Patrick Mauries in her obituary in The Independent as ‘the epitome of Parisian Neo-Romantic chic’. The daughter of a metal founder and without formal training, she began making jewellery from gilt metal at the age of thirteen. Her work in mirrored glass and resin dates from the 1960s.

Physical description | Festoon necklace of green mirrored glass set into black resin, with central pendant and drop, and with base metal links and fastening. The resin on the backs of the larger elements is ridged. The case is of white card with a clear and grey sticker on the lid with the initials NM. |
