Artist/Maker
Place of origin

In August 2007, the campaign group Climate Change set up a Camp for Climate Action at Heathrow Airport. The camp was a mass gathering of environmental activists who opposed plans for the airport's extension. Protestors claimed that the growth of air travel was a major factor in greenhouse gas emmisions. Climate Change produced a witty series of leaflets and stickers advertising the camp and its aims. They based their designs on the familiar visual graphics associated with air travel, such as this airport luggage label. Climate Camp was a major logistical operation and represented a new wave of climate action protest which was both large scale and organised.
