Sykes is a British situation comedy (sitcom) that aired on BBC TV from 1972 to 1979. It starred Eric Sykes and Hattie Jacques. The series was written by Eric Sykes who had previously starred with Jacques in Sykes and A...(1960 - 1965) and Sykes and a Big, Big Show (1971). Sykes had the same premise as the two previous shows with Eric Sykes and Hattie Jacques reprising their former roles as twins who lived in suburban London. At the series peak in the mid-1970s, Sykes attracted 17 million viewers. It was brought to an end with the death of Hattie Jacques of a heart attack in 1980.
