Print of an original pen and ink sketch advertising the thirty-eighth anniversary dinner of the 'Savage Club' at the King's Room, Holborn Reaturant, 11th May, 1895. It lists the entertainers who will be present and the toasts that will be made. The sketch was drawn by Oliver Paque (1846-1908), it was printed by the Dangerfield Printing Co., London, 1895.

The 'Savage Club' was a gentleman's club founded in 1857. It has maintained the tradition of regular dinners for Members and their guests, always followed by entertainment. These dinners often featured a variety of well-known theatrical performers.

Print of an original pen and ink sketch advertising the thirty-eighth anniversary dinner of the 'Savage Club' at the King's Room, Holborn Restaurant, 11th May, 1895. The central image depicts a confrontation between a group of figures dressed as 'Cowboys' and 'Indians', these include caricatures of famous club members, including the actor/manager Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905). A 'list of entertainers' at the left hand side, records those members likely to be present and below the central image are details of the toasts that will be made. The sketch was drawn by Oliver Paque (1846-1908), it was printed by the Dangerfield Printing Co., London, 1895.
