The play was written by Oscar Wilde and directed by Christopher Morahan, with a set by Peter Rice, lighting by Robert Bryan, design by Peter Rice and music by Ilona Sekacz. It was a Chichester Festival Theatre production with a cast of Patricia Routledge, Adam Godley, Saskia Wickham, Alan Cox, Rebecca Johnson, Jonathan Cecil and Sheila Reid. It opened at the Haymarket Theatre on 10 August 1999 and ran until the 6 November. Previews were from 4 August 1999.
