Porn-chic
The ‘naughty’ 1890s arguably saw the birth of the first ‘porn-chic’ fashion footwear. Inspired by the footwear of a certain clientele, extremely high heeled boots seem also to have appealed in fashionable circles. These boots were made by Joseph Box, bootmaker to the Prince of Wales, and one of the most popular shoemakers in London during the late 19th century.
