Edges

Artist's Book
1979 (published)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Designed and illustrated by Debra Weier and Bill Bridgers at the University of Wisconsin, this is the third publication published by the Emanon press, founded by Weier in 1977. On the theme of 'edges', the book is illustrated with delicate etchings. Some are full page illustrations, while others give the impression of being torn fragments stuck onto the pages. They are accompanied by poems printed in 12 point Optima on a variety of papers which have been torn and then collaged onto the support pages. The endpapers are in the form of handwritten texts explaining the theme of the book: the arbitrary divisions or edges we use to reflect on the flow of our own lives.
