This innovative ring, described by its designer Saara Hopea-Untracht as a 'Wing' ring, extends both above and below the band and across the adjoining two fingers, to create an extensive jewelled area on the back of the hand. Saara Hopea-Untracht, one of Finland's leading twentieth-century designers, worked in many media. From a family of goldsmiths, she began designing jewellery in 1958, and her designs were made in the family workshop in the town of Porvoo. This ring features spectrolite, a distictive Finnish stone.
