The Marni label was founded by Consuelo Castiglioni in 1994 and rapidly gained a loyal following. This striking dark green beaded cotton ensemble from Spring/Summer 2014 reflects the Marni style of traditional womanliness with an off-beat twist.
Here, a classic floral print has been translated into a three-dimensional beaded embellishment, with a matching embroidered clutch bag and head-visor and earrings made from the same acrylic and vinyl petals. Marni completed this with an unexpected detail: red glitter sandals with black and white platform soles. The bold statement of contrasting footwear which stood apart from the rest of the wearer's ensemble was popular in the early 2010s.
