Object history | The album was bought from the Countess of Carnwath in 1911. It had belonged to Laurence Sulivan (c. 1713-1786), a contemporary of Robert Clive and Warren Hastings in India. For some account of Sulivan and his activities on behalf of the EIC see "Ledger & Sword" by Beckles Willson Vol 11, Chapter VI. Purchased from Countess of Carnwath, 34 Clanricade[?] Gardens, Notting Hill, W. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project. RP 1911- 2968M |
