LOndOn 2012

Poster
2012 (printed and published)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

While Rachel Whiteread is best known for her sculptural work, drawing has remained a critical part of her practice. She has described drawing as being like a diary of her work, and memory remains a key theme. For LOndOn 2012 she reinterprets the Olympic rings emblem into a pattern of overlapping circles in the Olympic colours, suggestive of marks left by the bottoms of bottles or glasses and perhaps alluding to the memories of a social gathering or celebration.
