Object history | This small group of clothes (T.72 to 76-2013) belonged to the three great-aunts of the donor, Dr. Anna MacFee (1855-1947) one of the first female Canadian medical doctors; her twin sister Dr. (of Music) Catherine MacFee (1855-1942) ; and Donalda Macfee (1863-1957), the first woman graduate of McGill university. In the 1920s the three sisters inherited a great deal of money from two childless brothers and set off on a world tour. These clothes were mostly bought by them in Paris at this time. |
