Carpet of knotted pile and coloured wools on linen warps. The central field has a yellow background. A circle in the centre of the carpet contains a Chinese creature with four hoofed legs. Each half of the carpet contains eight circular motifs decorated with foliage and fretwork. The corners of the central field are decorated with fretwork and stylised foliage. The colour scheme of the decoration is white, yellow and three tones of blue. The border comprises a wide strip of fretwork between thin bands of solid colour of blues and white.

Warp: undyed cotton; Z4S; 12 threads per inch (50 per dm).
Weft: undyed cotton; Z2S; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 7 knots per inch (28 per dm).
Pile: wool (clearly Z4S); 9 colours: red (faded), orange, yellow, dark blue, blue, light blue, brown, light brown, white; asymmetrical know open to the left and tied around two threads; 42 knots per sq. inch (700 knots per sq. dm).
Side finish: 2 cords overcast with undyed cotton.
End finish: Lower: cut and bound with tape; Upper: cut.
