Brief description
"Bill Graham Presents The Kinks, Elton John" psychedelic poster #256 by David Singer, USA, 1970
Physical description
Psychedelic poster advertising a concert for The Kinks and Elton John. The central image features the head and shoulders of Michelangelo's David, printed in blue ink within a fine black frame. The image is produced twice, the second is reversed, rather like a playing card, and a picture of a brilliant cut diamond appears in the upper right and lower left corners, as if to emphasise this analogy. The event details are printed in black stylised letters, above and below this image, on the white background. The text reads, 'Bill Graham Presents in San Francisco, The Kinks*, Elton John*, Ballin'Jack, Juicy Lucy. Lights - Little Princess 109. Fillmore West 12-13-14-15 Nov. * Will Not Perform Sunday Night'.
