This print is was produced using a combination of etching and engraving. It depicts a candelabrum designed by Raphael and Michelangelo, both of whom created commissioned work for the papal court in the Vatican. The candelabrum is a good example of High Renaissance style, decorated with a dizzying array of elaborate figures and motifs, such as putti, acanthus decoration and nymphs.
