Object history | Acquired by Mr T Armstrong on behalf of the museum who was given a budget of £500 and instructed to purchase jewellery directly from the Salon de la Société des Artistes in Paris in 1901 that ‘shall illustrate characteristic phases of French technique and workmanship in adapting various materials for ornamental purposes’ (letter from A. S. Cole to T. Armstrong on 27 June 1901. File: Purchases by Officers on Visits Abroad (MA/2/P7/4, RP/1901/87985). The objects purchased were allocated museum numbers 957:966-1901. |
