Place of origin |
Sibyl Dunlop (1889-1968) was a jewellery and silver designer who from the early 1920s had a workshop and showroom on Kensington Church Street, London. She is best known for work combining stones in a patchwork effect of vivid colours. This piece is fully marked for Sibyl Dunlop but with the date letter for the year after her death, indicating that the workshop continued to produce jewellery in her name. The firm ceased trading in 1971 on the retirement of Dunlop's long-term workshop manager W. Nathanson.
